During 1918 Lt Victor Yeates, the author of ''Winged Victory'', served in the Squadron. The book is considered one of finest of the first World War. Another famous book written by a 46 Sqn pilot is ''No Parachute'' by Capt. (later AVM) Arthur Gould Lee. The Association has a copy of “Letters from Bob” which was book privately printed by the father of another Lee, Captain G A “Bob” Lee who had just been appointed a flight commander on the Squadron before he was killed in a tragic accident. The book contains the letters he sent home to his family in Melbourne Australia. The copy we have was presented as an academic prize in 1924 at Bob’s old school Geelong Grammar School |
